| LOMBOK - Latihan gabungan ketiga Multilateral Naval Exercise KOMODO (MNEK) telah diselenggarakan dengan sukses di Lombok, Indonesia.
Pada latihan tahap darat setiap negara yang terlibat ikut berpartisipasi pada acara parade kota, budaya dan olahraga, serta kegiatan kerjasama. Usai tahap tersebut, sejumlah kapal perang bergabung pada latihan laut selama dua hari. |
| HMAS Anzac berlayar dalam formasi dengan 33 kapal perang lainnya, menuju area latihan sebelum berlayar pulang pada hari penutupan MNEK 2018.
Tema latihan tahun 2018 adalah “Cooperation to Respond to Disaster and Humanitarian Issues”. Perusahaan kapal melakukan pengoperasian dengan negara-negara lain dalam berbagai latihan untuk memastikan respon yang cepat dalam situasi kemanusiaan atau bencana yang akan datang. | |

“KOMODO adalah pertama kali saya berpartisipasi dalam latihan besar multinasional”, ujarnya
“Saya berada di dek kapal selama latihan, yang merupakan momen favourite saat.”
“Sungguh luar biasa dapat menyaksikan lebih dari 30 lebih kapal perang berlayar bersama melewati kapal-kapal Indonesia,” tambah Ensign Pfahlert.

| LOMBOK - The third iteration of Multilateral Naval Exercise KOMODO (MNEK) has drawn to a close off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia.
The shore phase of the exercise saw participant nations conduct a city parade, cultural and sporting events, and engagement activities. On completion, warships joined for two days of practical exercises at sea.
HMAS Anzac sailed in formation with 33 other warships, bound for the designated exercise area before a sail past on the final day marked the close of MNEK 2018.
For 2018, the overarching theme of the exercise was Cooperation to Respond to Disaster and Humanitarian Issues. Ships’ companies practiced operating with other nations in a range of exercises to ensure an effective response in the event of a future humanitarian or disaster relief situation.
For a junior Maritime Warfare Officer, it was a valuable opportunity to operate with multiple ships from navies around the world.

“KOMODO was the first time I’ve participated in a large multinational exercise,” he said.
“I was on the bridge during the sail past exercise, which was my favourite moment.
“It was awesome to see a group of more than 30 warships sailing together past the Indonesian flagship,” Ensign Pfahlert said.
Originally from Wellington, New Zealand Ensign Pfahlert has been training with the RAN for 11 months.
HMAS Anzac participated in MNEK 2018 as part of her South East Asia Deployment.
HMA Ships Anzac, Toowoomba and Success have deployed for approximately three months, visiting a number of ports to build partner capacity and develop interoperability in the region. |
